What Is A Metaphor or Image That Describes Your Spiritual Journey?

Wedgewood’s Inner Journey group meets every Thursday at 7 p.m.  Lately, we’ve been using journaling to explore the spiritual journey.  Last night, Cherylann Richards, our Inner Journey group leader, asked us to write on, What is a metaphor or image that describes your spiritual journey? Below is my response.

I’m not much of a traveler. They say some people never make it out the county. Well, I’ve done more than get out of Forsyth, Orange, and Mecklenburg counties, the three counties in which I have lived. Canada – Toronto and Vancouver. Mexico – OK, I confess – we went to the touristy Acapulco, but we did make it to the charming city of Taxco.

Other trips, well, to beautiful U.S. National Parks.

As traveling goes, my traveling has not been broad or expansive.

When it comes to my spiritual journey, though, I am one of the luckiest “travelers”. I’ve been invited to tour the lives and thoughts of some of the most interesting people who have graced this earth. There’s been so much to see, so much to learn, so much to do together – it’s like getting to see all the wonders of the world, only the wonders are people not places.
